How to remove yourself from Whitepages
Last checked October 14, 2026
Whitepages publishes names, addresses, phone numbers and relatives to anyone who searches. You can ask it to take your listing down. Here's exactly how, as of October 14, 2026.
- You'll need
- Profile URL, Phone number for a verification call
- How long
- Whitepages doesn't give a time for the listing itself. It says search engines can keep showing a cached copy for up to 30 days.
- Can it come back?
- Possible. Whitepages says it can only hide data on its own services, not in the public records it draws from.
Step by step
- Search your name with city and state on whitepages.com and click View Details on your listing.
- Check that the phone number and address are yours, then copy the URL. It ends in a short reference code.
- Paste it on the suppression page, press Next, then Remove Me.
- Pick a reason (Whitepages says it doesn't affect the outcome).
- Enter a phone number and press Call Now to Verify. An automated call asks you to key in the four-digit code shown on screen.
Good to know
- The phone call is the step people get stuck on. Whitepages says the number is only used to verify the request.
- Whitepages also runs 411.com and PeopleSearch.com.
Then get it out of Google too
Opting out removes the listing from Whitepages, but Google can keep showing an old copy for a while. Google's Results about you tool lets you ask for those results to be dropped, and it can tell you when new ones appear.
How we checked this
